It was 1985 and I was asked to design / direct FASHION AID, the fashion industry's contribution to Bob Geldof's unstoppable campaign, slated to take place at The Albert Hall. It was my first ever solo project and it scared the living crap out of me, but I said yes anyway. I had to, it was a huge opportunity, so I jumped in and trusted my gut to guide me through whatever terrors were waiting - and there were many...many joys too. Being able to control the outcome of a job without factoring in someone's else's opinion was liberating and I got to work with a tremendously diverse cast of talented characters.
The original film was featured in the CLUB TO CATWALK exhibition at the VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM in 2013 and is now available to view here in full.
