Soho is...
Well it isn't, not quite yet anyway. But Soho is... will soon be a film / a series of short films, made for SAVE SOHO.
SAVE SOHO was created on December 1st 2014 by local Soho singer songwriter Tim Arnold and actor Stephen Fry after the closure and repossession of world renowned club Madame Jojo’s. Under their instigation a coalition of performers, residents and politicians came together out of concern for the future of Soho’s historic role as a national platform for the performing arts.
I recently filmed a group of people from the music, entertainment and fashion industries talking passionately with Tim Arnold about the importance of Soho in their lives and its impact on their careers. In the coming weeks we'll be editing the footage to illustrate why this hotbed of the creative arts should be nurtured, protected and allowed to grow at its own pace without being disfigured by office blocks and unwelcome gentrification.

For the record, my own association with the area goes back to the 1980s and 90s when I haunted every sound studio, video edit suite, bar and members club, learning the ropes of my chosen vocations by working, meeting, talking and moving from one illuminating experience to the next within this unique and magical square mile.
Soho is... on its way. Watch this space.
